Big Ben

Mummy and Aunty Pink pose with Lucy in front of the Palace of Westminster where our Parliament sits. Judging by hheir recent performance I think that Lucy would probably do a better job of running the country that the monkeys in the government. And there would definitely be more bananas and jelly about the place.

Lucy goes for a walk along the Southbank

Lucy has a great time walking down London's Southbank with Mummy and Aunty Pink. Incidentally, Mummy had cycled to London which is why she is wearing her cycling clobber, she hadn't just made a huge fashion faux pas.

Eye eye

Lucy is very impressed by the London Eye.

On the Train

Lucy is on the train going to London. She likes waving at trains as they go past so it is a nice change to be sitting inside one. Lucy looks a bit bored. Or perhaps she is looking our for the person who just Tangoed Aunty Pink.

Anyway she seems much happier now that she is playing with her parrott friend.

In the Night Garden

When Mummy reads Lucy an "In the Night Garden" book she insists on having her toys from that show. She calls them Wiggle Wiggle (Igglepiggle), Daisy (Upsy Daisy) and Magga (Makka Pakka).

Clearly the folks who designed these toys/characters know how to appeal to little ones.

Splash Splash Splash

Lucy has got a new rain coat. In line with many of her recent aquisitions it is from In the Night Garden. It has a picture of Igglepiggle and Makka Pakka on it. So we call it her Makka Parker. Ho ho ho.

Hmmm. There don't appear many puddles left at home. Perhaps a trip to the park.

Yay! Now that is what I call a puddle.

Lucy had so much fun spashing in the puddles that she didn't notice until she got home that her welly boots were full of water.

Education

Lucy loves learning with her Mummy. Here she is playing with her alphabet game. However, she is a bit confused because she thinks rabbits should begin with the "B" because she calls all of her rabbits Babbit.

Then Mummy reads her the story of Mog the stupid cat. He is a bit like Barney.

Tricycle

Mummy has got Lucy a fabulous new tricycle. What makes it particularly clever is that Lucy cannot quite manage to peddle or steer it, so Mummy can push it along and steer it using the handle behind. Smart.

Thames Riverside

Aunty Pink takes Lucy for a walk down the balcony by the Thames Riverside.

Lucy stares at the river in the hope of seeing some ducks.

Mines a half

Lucy and Daddy are visiting Aunty Pink in her Pub. Uncle Stew gets her a half of Pure Orange Juice.

Yum yum yum gulp. And breathe. Yum yum yum gulp. etc.

New Shoes

Lucy decides that she wants a new pair of shoes. Even with her famously large feet Daddy's trainers are a trifle optimistic. And in fairness she hasn't quite mastered them.

Even after a bit of practice she is still only half way there.

Sharing an Apple

Lucy is enjoying a nice piece of apple.

Being the caring sharing type, Lucy offers a piece to Mummy.

"No,no. I insist" says Lucy.

Uncle Matt reads a story

Lucy's curiosity is peaked by the book that Uncle Matt is showing her. It is "In the Night Garden".

To start off with, Matt tries to read the book to Lucy.

After a while, Lucy has to take over and explains the book to Matt.

Later on still and Lucy has pretty much lost interest whilst Matt is absolutely transfixed.

Watering Can

Lucy decides that she wants to water the plans in Grandma and Grandad's garden.

It soon becomes pretty apparent that the watering can is a little on the large side for Lucy's diminutive proportions.

But Grandma is very smart and figures out that a milk bottle will be the perfect size.

Of you go then Lucy, water the flower!

Yay! She is quite the Alan Titchmarsh. With the emphasis on Titch.

Aunty Pink's Cot

Grandma though that it might be entertaining for Lucy if she showed her the little cot that Aunty Pink used to put her dolls in when she was a kid. Lucy rather misunderstood and thought it was her new bed.

It's hard to blame her, that lamby blanket is still as snuggley as it was 33 years ago.

Burton Agnes Hall

Who is this in the distance? Why it looks like Aunty Sue, Grandma, Lucy and Mummy.

Of course when they get closer we can also see that Grandma is holding Wibbly pig.

Grand Master Spork

Wow! That is a big chess set. Mummy sets Lucy up as a replacement Queen.

Ignoring convention, Lucy speculates on an early knight attack.

Feeling rather more aggressively she starts a pawn attack down the Kings side.

Down a bishop and a rook. Things aren't looking too good.

Lucy wisely decides to make a hasty exit defended by her rook and knight.
