Balloons

Christmas Time wouldn't be Christmassy without a trip round to Whitton Towers to see Aunty Pink and Uncle Stewby's tree.

As a special treat Stewby has purchased some special balloons for making Balloon Animals. Stewby assures us that it is very simple to make animals and in point of fact, he is quite the expert.

He starts of by fashioning Lucy this lovely hat that would not look at all out of place at Ascot.

I think even Stewby would get into Ladies day with His fine invention

"... and do you know Aunty Pink, I don't Stewby can really do balloon animals ..."

Hush your mouth little one! Look at this fine greyhound Stewby has fashioned with his own hands.

Fireworks in Enfield

Aunty Lorna has invited Lucy together with Pink and Stewby over to Enfield to watch the spectacular firework show that the boy scouts arrange every year.

Lucy is very impressed with the candy floss.

Lucy gets a better view of the awesome display by sitting on Daddies shoulders.

This does not enhance Daddies ability to enjoy the fireworks.

Eventually Lucy agrees to remove her candy floss from Daddies face.

To reward Uncle Stewby for taking a turn carrying Lucy, she steals his cap.

Countryside

Uncle Stewby and Aunty Pink have taken us to a posh country house called Standen. But we aren't here for the house, we're here for the glorious countryside.

Daddy and Lucy take a break from wandering round

What a lovely day

Lucy is feeling quite relaxed

Luxury BBQ

Uncle Stewby is demonstrating the best way to cook a BBQ. Sitting down. Looks like those lady sausages are nearly done.

Lucy has found a nice spot as well snuggled up in a nug.

Playground

There is some quite unusual playground equipment at Birchington. This is very much like a treadmill you would find in a gym.

An oddly shaped see saw

This springy horse is slightly more traditional

Lucy is having a ball riding it.

But the most surprising piece of kit was this which seems like a combination of a cross trainer and a skiing machine

Bracing

Lucy is going for a bracing stroll along the coast at Birchington in Kent. Aunty Pink is pretending to be a seagull chasing Lucy.

This is not hard for Aunty Pink since she is an old bird

Lucy enjoys the amazing views of the Kent coast.

Wearing Aunty Pink's baseball cap has lent Lucy quite a chavy look.

Cheers

Lucy and Uncle Stewby clink "glasses". Lucy looks suspicious.

Where's all my birthday cake gone?

Shoulder Rides

What a treat! Lucy gets a shoilder ride from her Grandad

I think she is enjoying it judging by her expression

Lucy commands Grandad to take her down the garden

Grandad takes a well earned break and Uncle Stewby takes over the Lucy carrying duties

"Take me back to Grandad slave"

Day trip to Whitstable

Lucy and Daddy at Whitstable harbour

Aunty Pink cannot convince Lucy to try the jellied eels.

Photo Opportunity

Lunch time pitstop for a half of shandy

Lucy decided her best friend Panda needed a chrysalis. Goodness knows what she though he would emerge as. A butterpanda? A Panderfly?

Not much of a sandy beach - but Mummy and Lucy are making the best of a bad job

Lucy endeavors to make a sand/stone castle

She fills her cup with beach and turns it out ...

Bah!

Still, we all had a brilliant time. We even found out about the Maunsell Forts which we could see out to sea.
