Fairy Cake

Mummy and Lucy are choosing what pudding they would like after having a lovely lunch in a boutique cafe in Bath

Lucy chooses a fairy cake

She is particularly fond of it because it has an Aunty Pink baiting butterfly on it.

Roman Baths at Bath

Lucy and Panda are visiting the Roman baths in, well, Bath. They provide special devices that give an audio commentary as you are walking around. They have a special audiotour for children. Sadly there is no audio tour for Pandas so he has to share Lucy's.

As you walk around the baths there are signs which show the number you need to tap in to get the appropriate recording. Lucy can do this all by herself.

Apparently Romans were fond of bathing in pea soup.

Can't resist a cheesy photo opportunity

Lucy gets an update from Belator and Apulia

Looks like someone has over done the Radox. (This is because tiny plants called algae grow in it. In Roman times the roof over the bath would have kept the light out and so stopped the algae from growing)

The commentary is telling Lucy that it is time to go. We have a chance to try drinking the water in the visitors center. The Romans (and indeed many other people before and after them) believed that the water held magical properties that could heal the sick. However, it tasted disgusting and Mummy still had a dodgy knee after drinking it.

Bath Hair

Like most kids, Lucy loves messing with her hair when it is being shampooed. Apparently these two little stumps mean that she looks like a baby reindeer.

And this is a shark fin.

What you looking at, Punk?

Shrinking Bath

When Lucy was a baby, this baby bath was fine. Perhaps there is a clue in the name, but it transpires that now she is nearly two and a half it is not really big enough.

Look out for updates on our solution in mid September on Daddies web log.
