Lucy's first teddy is called Herbert's Bear. Ali bought it just after Lucy's second scan and it has been a hard job persuading her to keep it for Sprock rather than keeping him for herself.

Clearly it was worth the fight. Lucy loves Herbert's Bear big time.

Our friends Bren and Dawn popped over to see the Sprocket last night. Dawn wanted to take Lucy with her :-)

Richmond Park

So my Mum and Dad's holiday is almost over. Having spent the last few days visiting my sister and I and meeting baby Lucy for the first time, they are going back to Yorkshire tomorrow. So today we decided to go to Richmond Park. We start off in Pembroke Lodge for lunch. Many years ago this was a hunting lodge for Henry VIII. It has changed a bit since then but still has an awesome view.

We then strolled down to the Isabella Plantation. Here is Grandma pushing Lucy around.

After a day in Richmond Park, a well deserved Pint in the White Hart pub in Barnes. Stew and Pink look on, but Lucy decides to have a little lie down instead.

Easter Sunday

I cooked up a rather fine roast dinner for Easter. Roast Chicken, Roast Potatoes, Roast Parsnips, Chippolatas, Stuffing, Carrot Potato and Parsnip Mash with bread sauce and mushroom and onion gravy. Also my home made Yorkshire puds. I know you aren't meant to have Yorkies with chicken but I don't live by your rules :-) Smashing.

Boat Race Day

First things first. Like most babies, Lucy has some downy fur that will fall out soon. So Ali wanted to capture her cute little downy ears before the fur disappears.

Aunty Lorna generously bought Lucy this Snuggle Farm set. It will be great for her hand eye coordination later on but at the moment it is just really appropriate that it is a big hen at Easter.

So we always go and see the Oxford and Cambridge boat race. It is a load of toffs and I don't care who wins, but it is a cracking good day out. So we decided that this would be Lucy's first trip out in her new pram. Of course we dressed her up in an Easter Bunny outfit.

And what did we find when we changed Lucy's nappy when we got home? Her umbilical cord has fallen off (having been clipped at birth). So now it should only be a short time until we find out if she has an "inny" or and "outy" :-)

First Trip Out

So 6 day old - obviously time for Lucy to have her first trip out. We went to my sisters house which is just a mile or so away on the Thames. Here we have Uncle Stew, Proud Dad with Lucy, Ali and Aunty Pink.

Uncle Stew always gets on with baby's. No one knows why but it is a fact!

Cats

Whenever there is a new arrival in a house there is a tendency for the current incumbents to feel a little put out. So we have made a special effort to make sure our cats Barney and Boo have had plenty of fussing and even a few extra Cheesy Poofs nibbles. Obviously we aren't letting them stay with Lucy unaccompanied - well frankly - at the moment we are never leaving Lucy unaccompanied, but you can see in these shorts that the cats are already preparing for baby sitting duties in the future. Boo is very attentive and is going to ensure that Lucy keeps in line.

Barney on the other hand has a much more laid back baby sitting style.

Punk Baby

Glastonbury John (a.k.a. Johnny Hoover from the legendary Punk Covers band The Reoffenders) sent Lucy an awesome present. A CD of Punk songs performed as lullaby's. Ha ha ha.


It isn't quite as funny as it sounds but hopefully Luce will be rockin' to Pretty Vacant and Teenage Kicks (on pan pipes!) soon.

5 Days Old

Good news. After several failed attempts Lucy now seems quite happy to use her Moses Basket.

She certainly seems pretty happy. For the first time last night all three of us got three hours sleep at the same time.

Ali is obsessed by Lucy's feet. Possibly because they are very sweet.

Swaddling is the ancient art of binding baby children in cloth so they feel as tightly held as when they are in the womb. At first I thought it was a bit cruel, but then I saw her looking like a cute little white slug and realised it was fine.

After seeing Ali's Mum yesterday it was a chance to see Ports' Mum today. Hello Grandma.

And of course Ports' Dad. Hello Grandad.

Nana pops In for the first time

Nana popped in today to see her first Granddaugher. Ali's sister Aunty Niki had a son Jonathan about 9 months ago so it is nice to get the full set. Here they are together.

A few pictures of Lucy Elizabeth

Here is little Lucy's first photo. She has just been born and given to Ali. It is a little dark because I thought it was a bit harsh using the flash when she had only been "outside" for about 2 minutes. This is at about 5am.

Here we see Ali and Lucy in the side room the day after a good nights sleep - well - three hours! Note the rather large Toblerone on the bedside cabinet. Ali's special reward for a job well done.

Obviously we had to "wet the baby's head". So as soon as we got home we cracked out the Champagne, seen here ably guarded by Knitted Dog and Muji Rabbit - presents to Lucy from her Aunty Tiss.

The little sprocket tries out her pram for the first time. Good to know that there is plenty of expansion room. (She does have two hands by the way!)

And here she is trying out her Winnie the Pooh bouncer for the first time. Again it just shows how little she is.

Finally, here is Lucy's first visitor. My twin sister Auntie Pink came over to meet her. I think she is a a fan :-)
