Sand Pit

Lucy is playing in her sand pit

I'm going to build a sand castle!

Mummy and Lucy have a Drink

Mummy and Lucy are playing by Barnes Pond. Throwing bread to the ducks and swans.

Lucy has had enough of Charity. She wants a drink.

Lucy cracks on with her Orange juice.

As soon as Lucy's back is turned Mummy cracks on with her "juice".

Windswept Lucy

Mummy accidentally took us to a windy beach for our holiday. It was very windy.

Lucy makes the most of it walking around Robinson Crusoe style.

But this is not a nice sunny day for a beech trip.

It's all a bit windswept

Drag Sponk

Mummy is drawing pictures with Lucy's new Felt Tip pens. Lucy seems distracted. What is this new game that Aunty Lorna has invented?

Drag Sponk!

It is not the most sophisticated of games but Lucy loves it.

Lucy and Grandad take the Fort

There is a big fort at Belton House. It is really for older children so Grandad escorts Lucy around to make sure she is safe.

It's exciting.

After a while Lucy takes the lead. "Come on Gwandad!"

Grandma tells a story

Another trip on the train. Grandma and Lucy wave to their adoring public.

Grandma asks Lucy if she would like to hear a short anecdote.

"No Grandma! No!"

"...blah blah blah...fish and chips in Robin's Hood bay ... blah blah blah... oooh and it was lovely...blah blah blah...bus pass...blah blah blah..."

When will it end!

P.S. only joking

Climbing Frame

Lucy is on the climbing frame. Grandad makes sure everything is safe.

Wow! That is pretty high!

Daddy stands next to Grandad in order to look slimmer. Grandad, on the other hand loves to stand next to Daddy in order to show off his luxuriant mane and lack of a receding hairline. One all.

Swing!

Grandad is giving Lucy a push on the swing.

Lucy is quite amused.

Mummy gets in on the act.

What a push from Mummy! Luckily Grandad is there to stop Lucy just before she achieves escape velocity.

See Saw with Grandad

Hang on - surely Mr Newton would have some quibbles with this image. Lucy is certainly quite chunky for a two and a half but has she really reached equilibrium with Grandad?

Phew! Natural order is restored.

Bridge with Grandad

There is a bridge over the miniature railway.

Grandad takes Lucy onto the bridge so she can see the train go by.

It's very exciting!

Train with Grandma

Part of the reason that Grandma and Grandad chose Belton House to meet up was because it had loads of fun stuff for Lucy to do. This included a miniature railway.

Grandma is going to have a trip with Lucy and Mummy.

Lucy spots that Grandma is there

As soon as Grandma turns her back Lucy sticks her tongue out. Cheeky monkey.

Everyone is having a lovely ride.

Grandma and Grandad

Grandma and Grandad conme and join us for some top food at Belton House.

Mine Pen

Lucy brandishes her felt tip

Classy

Lucy has a ride on a monster!

And a big drink of orange.

Sea Creatures

Mummy is teaching Lucy about little sea creatures.

It's fascinating stuff.

Or is Lucy just looking at her reflection?

Otters

Still at Hunstanton and Lucy has found the Otter enclosure. Apparently the collective noun for Otters is a "Romp". It seems very appropriate for the cheeky scamps.

Lucy loves looking at them romping about.

This cheeky chap is having his tea

Penguins

We are at the Hunstanton Seal Life Center. Lucy loves the penguin rubbish bin.

But look - there are real penguins here!

But Lucy just wants the penguin bin.

Drawing with Dawn

Aunty Dawn and Lucy are going to do some drawing with her new felt tip pens.

It's a triumph!

Spaghetti

Lucy has learned to eat one of the most tricky food stuffs. Spaghetti. Of course if you don't get it all in your mouth first time then you have to do a bit of slurping.

Slurp Slurp.

Slurp Slurp Slurp Slurp Slurp Slurp Slurp!

Snooze

Lucy catches a little snooze before her lunch. Lucky we brough the buggy.

We are outside a museum on King's Lynn docks. Lucy has got the right idea. It was very boring.

Daddy takes an arty photo. Lucy slumbers on.

The Grand Performance

Mummy and Simon prepare for a spectacular show

Ali is amused that Damon does not have a chair

The start performance. Millie, Olly and Oscar dance to some popular tunes.

Everyone loves it. Except Lucy who ignores it.

Fish and Chips

As we all know, fish and chips always taste better at the sea side. The gang troff down on some fine haddock.

Quality

Despite being in the presence of a Church, Mummy smuggles in some forbidden Coca Cola (aka Tooth Rot) thinking that hiding it behind her bag will protect her from judgement.

Sandy Fun

Lucy loves playing in the "big sand pit"

She takes a break to watch the big cricket match going on behind her.

See soon gets bored of the cricket.

Lucy and Oscar have a little snooze after their beach exertions

Beach Cricket

Oscar is facing the demon bowling of his Dad Damon. He easily sweeps him for a cheap run.

Oscar almost give a catch to Simon and Milly who are doubling up as wicket keeper. Lucy is slightly more interested in building sand castles at first slip.

Oscars time at the crease is running short

But as Milly takes over on bat Oscar manages to blag bowling duties. He bowls a mean yorker.

Beach Fun

Lucy is having a paddle on Hunstanton Beach.

Milly and Olly join in

Oscar isn't going to miss out on some decent beach action

Holidays in Norfolk

We are on "holidays" in Norfolk. We are staying in a beautiful house but the furnishing is questionable. Oscar, Lucy and Olly sit on a terrible sofa.

Egg, ham, toast and tomato's for tea.

Olly has seen the light.

Lucy and Oscar look on in awe.

Sleep with Friends

Lucy has a snooze with some of her friends

Monday, 24 August 2009

Ducks

Mummy and Lucy are by Barnes Pond.

But where are all the Ducks?

Here they are!

Sunday, 23 August 2009

Holly's Party

What a lovely day. It is Holly's 3rd birthday party. After running around the adventure playground it is time to sit down for a proper party tea.

The Birthday girl herself tucks into a glass of juice.

Top scoff

Adventure Playground

Lucy is climbing through a see though tunnel at an adventure playground. This is the location of her friend Holly's birthday party.

Lucy loves sliding.

She persuades Daddy to play in the balls with her (not that he needed a lot of persuasion).

A fairytale house for a little pirate.

A rather more bouncy house.

More chins than a Chinese phone book etc.

Feeding the Horse

"Mummy Mummy, what do horses eat?" asks Lucy. "Why they eat grass Darling" informs Mummy.

"Sand will do"

Boing

Lucy is playing with Uncle Stewby in the garden. They have the big ball out.

Lucy explains the legend of Atlas to Stew.

But it is much more fun having a tickle and a boing.

Laughing

Lucy has a bowl of salad. Not very interesting. So when Aunty Pink decides to create an impromptu puppet out of a bread bun, Lucy is in stitches.

Pink looks is so funny!

Tickle Monster!

Hot Dog

Aunty Lorna told us about the genius that is Barbequed Hot dogs.

We though it sounded bonkers but as ever, Professor Lorna is quite correct.

Lucy agrees.

Caught Orange Handed

Mummy and Lucy are painting

Seems Lucy may have over done the Orange

Is Lucy going to be upset by having her hands covered by paint?

No. She thinks it is hilarious. I guess she thinks she looks like she is the same colour as Aunty Pink

She is even feeding herself twiglets with her contaminated paws.

Relaxed

Lucy seems quite relaxed.

Rather naughty since that is Daddies chair - and she doesn't look like she is in the mood for sharing.

Shrinking Bath

When Lucy was a baby, this baby bath was fine. Perhaps there is a clue in the name, but it transpires that now she is nearly two and a half it is not really big enough.

Look out for updates on our solution in mid September on Daddies web log.

Face Painting

Looks like Lucy has been inspired by her Tiger Face painting experience at Bocketts Farm and decided to do it herself.

Yes, a bit her on the cheek...

And the nose...

Do I look like a tiger? Not really.

Brum Brum

What is this? Has Lucy managed to break into Mummy's car?

Let's see if I can get this baby started

Just need a bit more cold air so I can keep cool while jacking the jalopy

Best just put some banging beats on the stereo

Uh oh. Looks like I have been busted. "Sorry Mummy".

Wakehurst with Grandad

Mummy and Lucy are spending the day with Grandad Ray at Wakehurst Place. Wakehurst is the sister site to Kew Gardens. Kew is one of Lucy's favorite places and if you ask her where she lives she will say "Kew Gardens". Rather optimistic!

They ensure that they are well hydrated

Rather than the stunning Elizabethan Mansion, Lucy likes the ducks. Good girl.

She is not quite ready to read the Sun Dial.

Sunday, 9 August 2009

BBQ Corn

We are at one of Aunty Pink and Uncle Doodies fantastic BBQs

Doods normally has a strict "meat only" rule leaving Pink stuggling to smuggle in a bit of salad. But this time he has cooked up some corn.

Hmmm. Do I like it?

Nyum Nyom Nyom.

Yes! She'll be here for days.

Making a Frog

Mummy and Lucy are painting in the garden

Lucy is turning an egg box into a frog

Ribbit

First Film

Mummy first took Lucy to the Cinema when she was very little. It is what is called "The Screamers" where parents take their babies to films which are played extra loud so it doesn't matter if they kick off. But this is Lucy's first film since she gained sentience. Daddy remembers that the first film he saw was "The Jungle Book". Lucy first is "Ice Age 3:Dawn of the Dinosaurs". (Not the 3D version, we didn't want to freak her out)

Obviously I wouldn't take flash photo's during a film - this is just the adverts before it starts. "Too Orangey for crows" etc

Both Mummy and Lucy look a bit surprised after the film. Possibly due to the cameras flash after 90 minutes in the dark.

All that excitement leaves Lucy fatigued

She has a nice flop down with Mummy when she gets home

Bacon in Richmond

Aunty Pink and Lucy are on Richmond Green

Yummy bacon sandwiches

What a guilty pleasure.

The irony is that as Lucy eats her bacon sandwich on white bread her t-shirt says "Eat your Greens".

What a relaxing day

Odd Shoes

Lucy put her shoes on herself this morning. Perhaps we should write L and R on them.

Sunday, 2 August 2009

The Tiger Sleeps Tonight

Lucy gets some well deserved rest

Of course the little tiger has her leopard friend in bed with her

The Tiger is getting tired

After all the excitement the little tiger is getting a bit tired

Is this the beginings of a thousand yard stare?

Yes

The Tiger digs some sand

The little tiger wants to know how to move some serious sand

This looks like te fella. A mini JCB.

Daddy helps lucy get the hang of the heavy lifting equipment

Of course Mummy can't resist having a go

The Tiger checks out some prey

"Raaaaaarh"

What you looking at? "Raaaaarh"

That little rabbit is quite sweet

What a sweet little chicken.

Choices choices, what is a little tiger meant to have for tea? Rabbit or Chicken?

Lucy's first Makeover

Lucy is sitting down to have a makeup demonstration

A bit heavy with the rouge

Do I need so much on my eyebrows?

Oh, hang on - am I meant to be a tigger?

"Raaaaarh"

Trampoline

Lucy has a boing on the Trampoline

Lucy gets her Goat

Lucy like this nice white goat

She helps Mummy feed it.

And then gives it a nice stroke.

Llama

Beware of the Llamas! Maybe better off sticking to Alapacas like Nuzzle and Scratch

Lunch on the Farm

Lucy starts off her farm lunch with a Smoothie

Good gracious! A full English breakfast?

Yeah Man!

Pig Race!

Look Mummy - they pigs are coming!

Run Forrest Run etc...

The piglets have a well earned drink with their duck friends

Saturday, 1 August 2009

Guitar Lesson

Lucy is struggling to learn guitar. Maybe Daddy can teach her?

Hang on - "Where Strings Gone?". She has fallen for the old Guitar Hero trick.

On Your Bike

Mummy has brought Lucy to Richmond Park for her first go on a full sized bike.

Is Lucy doing a Royal Wave in a Royal Park?

The ladies set of on their adventure.

Sunday, 26 July 2009

Tractor Ride

Lucy, Mummy and Daddy are in a trailer being pulled by a tractor around Brocketts Farm.

What a fine ride.

Daddy feeds Lucy to a Goat

End of the Pig Race

Mummy and Lucy are waiting for the pigs at the end of the pig race.

The athletes get to the end

Lucy looks on approvingly

The athletes deserve their prize

Horses

Mummy and Lucy are looking at a normal size horse.

But look at this - - little Lucy sized horses

She has a nice chat with the little horse.

Hang on, what is that noise?

That dog seems to be rather casual

Lolly!

Lucy is having a lovely lolly.

Mummy is having a lovely lolly as well.

Friend in the Tent

Lucy loves her Tent. But she particularly likes sharing it with friends. Who is about?

Come on then Boo. I hope you have brought your sleeping bag.

Saturday, 25 July 2009

More Painting

Mummy and Lucy have got the paints out.

I think green is looking favorite

"It's bit hard"

This is starting to look like a frog

This clearly needs a bit of Orange.

Ice Lolly

Lucy is slurping down a lovely ice lolly.

Much improved when she is released from her push chair prison and can sit on Dad's knee.

Friday, 24 July 2009

On The Wire

Out of the blue, Lucy was suddenly able to walk the tight rope bridge in the playground.

Perhaps a job in the circus is in the offing?

"Yeah, Lucy done it."

Thursday, 23 July 2009

Scooter in the Park

This is Lucy's cool scooter.

Lucy looks pretty determined

That's it.

Barry Sheene would be proud.

Monday, 20 July 2009

Lucy in a Basket

Lucy is playing boats in the washing basket with Mummy.

Yeah!

Sausage

I'm eating a sausage.

Sunday, 19 July 2009

Painting

Lucy is doing some painting.

It is a bit windy so she is using some of Mummy's weights to keep the paper on the table.

"It needs a bit more purple".

Bad Hair Day

If this hair style had been created using loads of gel and styling products it could be considered quite cool.

It wasn't.

A Bit Scary

Lucy and Aunty Pink are watching a film together (Finding Nemo). As you see at this point it is getting a bit scary but Lucy is man enough to stick with it.

However, Lucy is now sufficiently scared that in true Doctor Who style, she is hiding behind the sofa. What hideous vision has caused her such trauma?

Ah!

Friday, 17 July 2009

Little Cow

Lucy is riding a bizarre looking cow at Brocketts Farm.

She loves it.
