London Aquarium

Mummy and Niki take Lucy and Jonathan to the London Aquarium. Niki and Jonathan are very brave.

The sharks really are quite big and scary.

Look out behind you!

Mummy and Lucy look at some of the slightly less scary fish.

Lucy is just facinated by the fish. I suppose we could get her a gold fish but I suspect the cats will just think they have a treat for tea.

Lucy and Jonathan go to London

Lucy gets to the train station.

It looks like Jonathan is off the hook (although the eagle eyed might notice that he is still on reigns!).

Jonathan tries to detemine what the weather is going to be like later.

Lucy has enough so catches up on some sleep.

Hever Castle

Mummy and Lisa decided to take Lucy to Hever Castle.

Now that's what I call a front door!

Snooze

Ahhh. Lucy looks sweet as she curls up for a little snooze.

OJ's 1st Birthday Party

This fine sunny weekend we headed up to Lincolnshire to our top mates Wig and Damon. It was their youngest son OJ's birthday. They call him Odje Podge. I bet he won't use that nick name when he grows up. Here is the little man himself looking rather more stern that he ever does in real life. He is such a happy little fellow.

Wig and Damon's oldest Oscar and our goddaughter Milly pose with Mummy and the Sprock. Lucy looks a bit like a cabbage patch kid here.

Mummy decided that Lucy needs to lie down for a rest but Milly and Oscar decide that she doesn't need a rest at all and decide to play with her instead.

Then they decide to "play" with Damon. It isn't really a birthday party if all the kids haven't piled onto a poor innocent adult.

Milly and Oscar decide that collecting snails and trying to stick them to the grown ups is a much funnier game.

Lucy gets a big huggle from her Aunty Wig.

Back from the pool

Lucy is well knackered after going swimming with her Mum. Hence the rubber duck.

Lucy Kilroy Silk

Have you ever wondered how and why celebrities turn orange? We think we have found the answer. It is because they have been eating carrot and sweetcorn mush. This is what it did to Lucy.

Fortunately Sue and Kev got her this delightful top. It might look a bit vulgar but it is actually an all over feeding bib with plastic underneath so it can protect from the ravages of feeding time. Some orange still got through to her t-shirt though. We don't know how.

Cheeky Monkey

Mummy thinks that Lucy is going to help her with some stuff that she needs to do on the interweb. However, while Mummy looks serene and lovely, she has no idea what a cheeky face the Sprocket is pulling,

A quick magnification show that she is pulling the classic "Cheeky Monkey" face. Time for the naughty shed?

Check out my new Crib

Well at last the day has come for Lucy to move into her own room. The only problem is that she is still a bit little for her new cot.

That being said, she is almost filling her moses basket. Hmmm. What can the answer be?

Yay! Isn't it obvious? Put the Moses basket into the cot until she has grown a bit. But she still gets to enjoy her new room. Clever Mummy for thinking of that.

Organisation

The Sprocket is starting to get a bit big for her Moses Basket. So it won't be long before she make the move into her own room and her new cot. In preparation Mummy has been organising things in her room. Fortunately there is a big cupboard where all her stuff can be stored. Hold on - what is that on the bottom shelf! Isn't that taking organisation a touch far?

Of course we won't be storing Lucy in the cupboard. We already have the naughty shed for if she transgresses the rules that Mummy has set down. She does look funny though.

Evie

On Saturday we popped over to Harriet and Ben's in Hammersmith for a Barbecue. Their little baby is also called Lucy and she is cute as a button. Charlotte and John were there as well with little Evie who was the first of our NCT friends babies to be born. As it turned out the weather wasn't really conducive to a BBQ so we all sat around inside eating sausage sandwiches, gossiping and looking at our cute kids. Here are Evie and Sprocket playing together on a huge play rug.

The new exciting game - Hidey Cloth

Lucy has "invented" a new game that is absorbing her for ages. First - throw a muslin cloth over your head.

Next, pull the muslin back and make self satisfied noises similar to those you would make if you had just discovered perpetual motion or faster than light travel.

Then throw the cloth back over your head and start again. She loves it. Could Hidey Clothtm be the first product in our games empire? No.

All babies love Stewby

I think it has been mentioned before, but all babies love Uncle Stew. The Sprockmeister is no exception. It is clear from this photo that Lucy quite rightly adores her Uncle Stewby.

Obviously when Stew combines with Big Pig (wearing Lucy's best converse trainers) the force of their loveliness is irresistible.

Real Food!

Quite a momentous day. For the first time we decided to try feeding Lucy something other than Mummy's milk. We decided to start off with a bit of pureed apple. We were expecting the Sprock to be a bit resistant but she was well up for it. The only problem was that she insisted on holding the apple puree covered spoon in the same way that she had held a bottle. Sticky.

But before long she was opening wide every time the spoon came towards her mouth. This lady loves apple.

However, even though Lucy obviously liked her new meal, it was clear that this was going to be a messier job that feeding her a bottle. All over her face, her hands, her top and Daddy. Mucky pup.

Still, Daddy and Lucy were very proud to have survived her first real meal. And Mummy was on the sidelines taking photo's and telling Lucy how clever she was.

Water Baby

Mummy and Aunty Pink took the Sprocket swimming for the first time a couple of days ago. It wasn't 100% successful since the pool in Richmond was a little cold and it was full of loud children. So today Mum tried again and took her to a smaller quieter swimming baths in Putney. She loved it. Here is a photo of her in her very fetching teddy bear robe after her swim.

Holly

We popped over to see Marcus and Ellen so Lucy could catch up with her little friend Holly. Holly is just on the cusp of being able to walk. That will be trouble!

When Lucy got a bit tired Holly generously lent her push chair. Lucy does look a bit little in it. It's very rare that her big flapping feet look small.

Drink

Slurp Slurp. Lucy loves a nice bottle of milk.

Polesden Lacey

Mummy and Aunty Lorna decided to take Lucy to the National Trust pile Polesden Lacey over by Dorking. Judging by her expression she wasn't overly impressed. Daddy used to wear this expression a lot when he was being dragged round stately homes as a child as well.

However, there is no doubting that they know how to throw a few flowers at a wall to make it look pretty. And it was a lovely sunny day.

Nana Moo and Great Grandad Don

So a trip down South for Lucy to catch up with her Nana and Grandad. Because she lives in the countryside Nana has decided that she wants to be called Nana Moo.

To help Lucy remember she has got Lucy a big floppy cow which Mummy has named Monty Moo. He's very cud-dly (arf).

Mummy and Lucy catch up with Great Grandad Don.

Don loves his little great grand daughter.

Converse

For many years Daddy has been wearing Converse All Stars trainers. Not, you might be suprised to learn, becasue he plays a lot of basketball. But because they are very cool. So it was great to get another clothes drop from Aunty Niki and Cousin Jonathan only to find that Lucy is about to join the cool Converse crew. As you can see Daddy is currently sporting a blue pair and a rather racey pair of flamers. But Lucy has gone with classic red which is a good choice since this is also what Doctor Who wears. So she is in very good company. Just need to get her a Tardis now.

Sunday Roast

I wouldn't be right to let Aunty Tiss go back up to Birmingham without a proper Sunday Roast. Beef, Roast spuds, 'neeps, carrots and of course Yorkshire Puds - finished off with horseradish sauce and Ports' special gravy. And a cheese board to die for.

Lucy wasn't convinced. But then she only had milk.

She did get to sit on the big table with all the grown ups in her Bumbo (with Muji Rabbit of course).

Aunty Tiss wasn't going to leave without a big glass of red wine and a lecture on returning library books (not really).
