Summer Day at Pinks

Arriving for an afternoon with Pink and Stewby (and Helen and Pedro) finds Lucy a bit fatigued. So she has a little graceful nap.

But as you would expect, when the crisps come out Lucy perks up and reanimates herself. Next thing she is demanding that Pink reads her stories. Pink is of course more than happy to oblige.

Little Red Riding Hood

Mummy has become an avid knitter. After cutting her teeth on few scarfs and wot not, she started on her first major challenge. To knit Lucy a Little Red Riding Hood cardigan that a) would look like a cardigan b) Lucy would like it c) would fit and d) could be used for school

There were numerous technical (it's hard and if you go wrong you have to start that bit again) and logistical (the wool shop could not get hold of enough wool of the correct colour/batch and the staff were lovely but not really modern) challenges. But Mummy overcame them all.

So Little Red Riding Donk has an a) lovely cardigan that she b) loves to bits that c) fits her like a glove and even has a bit of growing room in it and d) she has been using as part of her school uniform. Crikey! Well done Mummy!

Paint Carnage

Red hands and blue feet and legs

Just mix up a bit of orange

Add in a bit of Lellow

I wonder what Barney and Boo will make of this?

National Gallery

I can't claim more than passing expertise in body language but my reading of this is that Lucy didn't want her photograph taken. Despite what you might think from this inauspicious start - she loved the National Gallery and particularly the free children's art appreciation and "having a go at making art" class that she got to attend (she has actually been before with Mummy). Unfortunately the gallery had a strict ban on photography which is why we can't show you any of it.

Surprisingly, when we went for a coffee near Trafalgar Square after our visit Lucy had totally changed her tune and demanded her photo was taken by this monument.

You may notice the Queen Rubber Duck she is holding - courtesy of Mummy who knows her little girl very well (i.e. loves the Queen and Baths and rubber ducks)

Lucy insisted that Queen Duck has her own portrait

Spotting an empty plinth, Lucy decides that she is a statue

Lucy behind the Camera

Daddy has popped into the shops to buy our tea on the way home from taking Aunty Pink to a garden centre. Whilst Daddy is shopping Lucy some how gets hold of the camera. She starts off taking quite a nice picture of Mummy.

Next she captures Aunty Pink being eaten by a Triffid.

She soon gets bored of shooting her elders and betters and decides to focus on her favorite subject. Herself.

Nice socks. (there are about 16 more near identical photo's of her feet if you would like a very unique signed print)

Rule Brittiania

Lucy is getting quite excited about the Queen's Jubilee

I have tried educating her on the difference between the Union Flag and the Union Jack

She didn't care.

I also tried educating her on the superiority of Daddy's car vs. Mummy's car. Her verdict was that Daddy's car smells (of new leather and quality wood) whilst Lightnin Da Queen is the bestest car in the whole of the world (becasue she gets to sit in the front seat (front passenger seat that is)).

Engurland!

Lucy is getting quite patriotic about the Euro Football championship and specifically the England Team. How very young and naive of her. A life of disappointment awaits.

And for her dolly Bella.
