Lucy's 5th Birthday Party

Looks like pretty much everything is ready for the kiddies party. Balloon fountain. Check. Food. Check. Drinks. Check.

Mummy and Aunty Tiss prepare for the tribe of 5 year olds to arrive.

Aunty Tiss is left in charge of the Crown making department.

Milly kindly steps into the face painting chair. Of course Lucy is her first customer.

Mummy takes a turn painting Frazer

Frazer looks around desperately for Milly but she is long gone. Mummy will have to do.

At last the cat/badger/zebra hybrid is complete.

Frazer has a rest.

Look how clean the Bouncy Castle is.

The Adults get a chance to have a breather.

Well not all of them. Beloved Jonny is much in demand.

Pass the parcel is a huge success with Daddy and Uncky Kev in charge.

Aunty Tiss is starting to show the signs of child fatigue.

How many 5 year olds can you get onto a bouncy castle designed for 3? Answer - all of them. Especially when they are being chased down the garden by a GruffelSue.

Uncky Kev shows a surprising aptitude for face painting when Milly realises that she has missed out.

Aware that her reputation as prime paint facer is under threat, Milly retakes the artists seat.

Lucy blows out the candles on her hedgehog cake.

As things begin to wind down, Daddy reads Lucy one of her new story books.

The GruffelSue gets to take a rest from child herding

A pair of old fish wives

And what a treat to finish of a very exciting day, two Aunties read a very happy and tired little girl her bedtime stories.

What could this mean?

Cleaning a Bouncy Castle

Just days away from Lucy's birthday party and Daddy realises that the bouncy castle is in a terrible state having been left out over the winter. But how to clean such a large and unwieldy bit of kit? The obvious solution was to hang it up in a tree and then inflate it giving 360 degree access for cleaning purposes.

The next job was to find a willing assistant. Suitably outfitted with the appropriate protective gear of course.

Impressive as her protective equipment was - Lucy got soaked.

But she doesn't mind. It's great fun.

Paint Face

Has the Zombie Apocalypse arrived in Barnes?

Nope - Lucy has been helping Mummy to apply a bit of paint face. Phew!

Lucy and Annabel go for a stroll

Lucy decides that baby Annabel could use some fresh air

A quick trott to the cricket pitch should do the trick

Lucy seems very pleased with her child nurturing skills

Pink and Lucy watch a filum

Lucy and Aunty Pink are watching a filum together

It looks like it might feature some mild peril judging by the expressions on the girls faces.

It seems that Aunty Pink is no longer troubled by mild peril

And Lucy's mood seems to have lifted somewhat due to the appearance of a huge cookie

Then a quick read of Sir Charlie Stinky Socks to round off an excellent evening

Science is a load of Balls with Aunty Pink

Why who is this wizened oriental apricot next to Lucy? Oh! It is Aunty Pink straining to open this bottle of "wine".

But when Lucy pours out the "wine" - it turns out that much to her surprise and delight it is a load of balls.

More specifically the balls are Hydro Crystals. When you add water they grow to 150 times their original size.

If you then plonk them in with your house plants they will gradually release that water meaning you don't need to worry about watering them all the time.

Now that there is a bit of science. And a nice plant to boot!

BBQ with Uncle Stew

Uncle Stewby is tending the red hot barbecue. Due to the furnace like temperatures involved this requires his full concentration as any distraction could have dire consequences.

Peach Peach *giggle*

No sasuages for the villain. Just dry bread and water*

*this is not true - lady sausages flowed like a river of pig

Train to Whitton

Lucy loves riding on the train. Today we are going to Whitton to visit Pink and Stewby

Lucy watches the boats along the River Thames as we cross Richmond bridge

It is great fun looking out of train windows

Slumbering

Lucy has had a busy day

She is having an Orinoco style forty winks to recharge her batteries

Daddy was most certainly not doing the same
