Tree Monkey

There can be little that defines childhood as much a climbing trees. Aside from being the lungs of the planet, a source of fire and a quite promising building material, it is clear the the prime function of trees is to be an adventure playground for kids.

Lucy scales this leviathan like a rat up a drain pipe.

It is only then that Lucy realises that climbing down trees can be a bit harder than climbing up them.

But after a little practice her confidence grows and she is like the new Tarzan

"Can I build a tree house Dad?"

Playground

Lucy is in the playground. It's a lovely day.

Lucy has a go on the big swing.

Lucy watches some of the older children sliding down the fireman's pole. She is tempted but has never done it before without Mummy or Daddy helping her.

Does she dare try it all by herself?

Fortune favours the brave and the plucky little carrot steps of the edge.

A possible fireman in the making?

In the Library

Lucy's local library in East Sheen does more than just lend out books. They also hold events for little people.

Today they are holding a festive making day where children can express their artistic side.

Lucy is colouring in a picture of children hanging up their stockings on Christmas Eve.

The snow man Lucy made is not happy. Because he is going to melt!

Mufti Day at School

At Lucy's school "Mufti Day" is when all the children are allowed to dress in any clothes they want rather than school uniform. Lucy decides to wear her favorite ballerina outfit that she got for her birthday from Nana Moo and Jim.

Girl Panda

Lucy's best friend Panda has to put up with quite a lot but because he loves Lucy he doesn't mind.

He doesn't even mind when Lucy decides that she wants him to be a girl Panda by making him wear bangles and hair clips on his ears. Fortunately boy Panda was allowed to return the next day.

Penguin

Lucy is visiting the bird garden at Harewood House near Leeds because she has heard that there is pinguin feeding to be done.

This pinguin doesn't appear to be particularly hungry though.

"You know they serve cabbage with fish and chips here".

Giraffes Can't Dance

One day Grandad helped to sort lots and lots of books for the children at one of the schools where he is a governor. He was very pleased and then he went to a shop and bought this book for Lucy. She likes it very much particularly because it came with a toy giraffe. Lucy immediately set about tracing a picture of the Giraffe to give to Mummy.

Letters

Lucy is learning phonics at her school. Phonics is where children are introduced to letters by how they sound rather than getting bogged down in actually reading.

Mummy has put up a phonics chart in the living room so we can help Lucy practice

Fireworks in Enfield

Aunty Lorna has invited Lucy together with Pink and Stewby over to Enfield to watch the spectacular firework show that the boy scouts arrange every year.

Lucy is very impressed with the candy floss.

Lucy gets a better view of the awesome display by sitting on Daddies shoulders.

This does not enhance Daddies ability to enjoy the fireworks.

Eventually Lucy agrees to remove her candy floss from Daddies face.

To reward Uncle Stewby for taking a turn carrying Lucy, she steals his cap.
