Mummy is reading a novel by national treasure Stephen Fry called Making History. It is a science fiction story about trying to prevent the rise of fascism and the far right in pre WW II German by sending a male contraceptive pill back to Hitler's father rendering him infertile preventing the dastardly Führer's birth and thus the Holocaust. However, as is often the case with time travel, things don't quite go to plan and the hero must find a way to fix the unforeseen consequences of his actions.
Lucy didn't really seem to get into it.

Trickle Treat
It's Halloween and Lucy is helping Mummy create a scary pumpkin to put in the front window so all the Trick-or-Treaters around our area know that she will give them a little treat if they dress up. Rather sweetly Lucy doesn't know about the thuggish American connotation (threatening dire retribution if candy isn't proffered) and thinks it is just called Trickle Treat.
Firstly Lucy opens up the pumpkin using her precission cutting spade
Then she needs to scoop out all the insides
Mummy uses a sharp knife to cut out a fearsome face that would send a chill through any trickle treater.
Lucy checks that the pumpkin monstrer is not too heavy
Rather than waste perfectly good pumpkin innards, Mummy cooks it up into a fine soup.
Lucy has a little taste to see if this new delicacy is up to her exacting standards
Yes it is
So both a scary sign and a nutritious meal
Well done Pumpkin

Big Tree - Little Girl
Mummy and Lucy are at Wakehurst Place, the country cousin of Kew Botanical Gardens.
Lucy certainly looks like quite a little person next to this monster tree
But as Lucy observes, it is amazing

Ever feel like you're being watched?
Lucy is in bed having her last story read to her
But it feels like someone is watching her
"Soon they will be in my power"
"Mwah ha ha ha haaaaaaa"

Pizza Testing
Lucy has cooked a pizza with Mummy.
Lucy takes pizza tasting very seriously
Looks like that peperoni might be a bit sharp

Shoe Thief
Lucy has acquired a new pair of shoes that look remarkably similar to a pair that Mummy has
It must be a co-incidence
