Bookcase

Lucy is standing next to her lovely new bookcase that was a present from her Grandma and Grandad.

It goes rather well in her pink bedroom.

Barney the Jigsaw Cat

Lucy is doing a jigsaw with Barney.

Barney is taking quite a passive role.

Yes. That looks finished.

I'm off. My work here is done.

Lucy's Bedroom - After

Lucy is playing on her new bed in her lovely new pink bedroom.

Looks like there is enough room for her and panda in her full size bed.

I think Lucy likes her new bed.

This will do very nicely.

Watch Lucy's reaction the very first time she saw her new bedroom.

Lucy's Bedroom - Before

Lucy's bedroom was essentially a spare room with her cot in the corner. The big double bed meant there wasn't much room for personalization.

It was all a bit ramshackle. The chair that we used to sit in to read bedtime stories was actually a garden lounger!

Garlic Supreme Leader

What is this high tech device that Lucy is using?

Hmmm. It seems to be some sort of high tech remote control. But what is Lucy controlling?

My word - she has taken control of a Garlic (as she calls them).

Could Lucy be planning to use this evil extraterrestrial fiend to take over the universe?

No. She has to put it away because it is bath time.

Story Time

Daddy is reading Lucy a lovely story

It is a small book. Daddy doesn't have huge hands.

Hat with a Cat

It's a very sunny day over at Sell Mansions so Lucy has borrowed Uncle Stewby's hat.

It fits surprisingly well

The cats seem to approve as well.

Sitting with Mummy

Mummy and Lucy are at Aunty Pink's House

They are obviously fascinated by the conversation.

It must be Uncle Stewby talking.

Lilly Pond

Lucy and Holly are looking at the lilly pads in Kew Gardens

Have they spotted Jeremy Fisher?

Lucy at Longleat short film

Here is a short film of Lucy's day at Longleat Safari Park. The deer feeding at the end with Aunty Lorna is particularly amusing.

To see it on You Tube - particularly if you would like to watch it in High Definition, here is the link: Click Here

(Aunty Lorna guards against her image being put on the Interweb almost as vigorously as some religions discourage depictions of their imaginary friend. So we are very privileged to receive permission to share this.)

Merry Go Round

At Barnes Fair, Mummy and Lucy wait patiently for a turn on the impressive merry-go-round.

Lucy is old enough now to go on all by herself

She loves it

Cinderella's Bum

At Barnes Fair a group of local writers have a stall where they sell the books they have written. As a special bonus, they will also sign their books.

Lucy selected Cinderella's Bum. The author and illustrator Nicholas Allen was on hand to sign Lucy's book and he even drew her a little picture.

Lucy thinks that it is very funny.

Coffee Shop

Lucy is having a "Sex in the City" style day. She is wearing a fabulous dress that was Mummy's when she was a little girl.

She is also wearing Mummy's green high heels.

Mummy and Lucy go to the local coffee shop for a posh iced drink.

And a cracking croissant

The Newest Straggler

Mummy has been a member of The Stragglers running club for a few years now. The Straggs are a really friendly crew who are very inclusive of folks regardless of their fitness. This even extends to embracing little tots. So Lucy is now a member of the Stragglers even though she is only three. You can see how proud she is to have her official Stragglers shirt.

And today she is entering her first race. She is number 11.

As you can imagine, the start of this important race was very tense. The race was 500 meters. Mummy attempted to hold Lucy's hand during the race but Lucy said, "No Mummy, I'm busy running"

Proud ladies at the finish line.

Lucy gets a medal for finishing her first race. Can you tell who is proudest, Mummy or Lucy?
