The last time we took Sprock to the Boat Race she was about 4 days old. She doesn't appear to have noticed Oxford going past in the lead. But then neither does Aunty Piiink.
Ah - they seem to be taking more notice of Cambridge trailing through in a not very close second place.
But then as most people agree the flotilla that follows the crews is far more interesting that the race itself. Watching a load of home counties students rowing is clearly no match for 50 odd boats with impressive wakes.
Of course Aunty Piiink was more interested in getting Spoink to wear her cap.
Despite her initial reservations, Lucy seems to quite like the idea.
Cheese!

Sprock It
Sprock has started to learn how to play the modern day "Simon Says". It's called Bop It and it is very irritating whilst also being quite compulsive. Lucy's Aunty Piiink is the current points leader - which she is never shy of reminding everyone.

Scaling the heights
Lucy is getting far to good at climbing stairs. Her tentative atempts recored previously have been replaced by her new mountain goat like agility. She can climb the whole stairs in one go - epecially if she knows that Barney is on Mummy and Daddy's bed. Look like we need another stair gate.

Daddy and Sprock have a snooze
Sometimes when Lucy wakes up really early in the morning it is possible to get her back to sleep by cuddling her in the big bed.

Cheeky
One of Lucy's favorite games at the moment it scuttling along the sofa and then diving into Mummy or Daddies waiting arms. Can you tell that she is playing it just after tea time?

Car Seat
Lucy's first car seat has served her very well. But as you can see from this photo her flippers are now touching the back seat of the car. The plan was to wait until Daddies new car arrives next month to get a new bigger one but the Sprock's exponential growth means we are going to have to act sooner. What is quite nice is that the car seats for kids that are over one face forwards - so she will now be able to see where she is going.

Holly Day
A trip over to see Mellon and Lucy and Holly are playing with her crazy tree toy.
Marcus is an Arsenal fan and so has dressed Holly in pink baby Arsenal clobber. That is absolutely fine. However, we are not very happy about him drapping a filthy Gooner scarf around Lucy. We had to give her an extra thorough bath that night ;)

Chock Sprock
Little Lucy had her first ever experience of Chocolate today. Aunty Lorna came round laden with a big Green & Blacks Easter egg for Mummy and Mummy had got Lorna some Green & Blacks chocky bars. With Aunty Lorna and Mummy in possession of fine chocolate there was never any question of waiting until Easter Day - it was always going to be a chocolate frenzy. Just coming up to her first birthday it seemed the right time to see if Lucy wanted to join their chocoholic coven. Mummy handed her a chunk of Green & Blacks Organic Maya Gold. At first she seemed like she might not like it.
But any doubts were soon banished as she happily chomped away, just sparing the minimum amount to smear around her face.
There is no doubt that the Sprock has inherited her Mum's chocolate appreciation gene.

The ongoing torment of Barney
A new development in Lucy's ongoing torment of Barney the cat. He has started taking quite an interest in some of her toys.
However, this does rather leave him open to hostilities from his "favorite" sister.

Bounce on Mummy
Why would you sit quietly reading a book when you could have far more fun sitting on your Mummy.

A Mountain to Climb
Why does Lucy insist on climbing the stairs all the time? Perhaps like the mountaineers - because they are there.
She can now climb both sets of stairs with worrying alacrity. We obviously need more stair gates.

Status Quo
Aunty Pink and Uncle Stewby returned from holiday in Gran Canaria claiming that there were a disproportionate number of Essex chavs there. To make their point the got Sprock a denim jacket.
So does she look like Francis Rossi?
Or is it Rick Parfitt?

Ear Ear
It is no secret that Mummy is quite a fan of a tiara. Seems she has found a version that the Sprocket likes as well.
Lucy demonstrates her Bunny ear to Daddy.
Mummy is proud of Lucy's big ears. And the rabbit ones.
Obviously it doesn't take long before the Sprock is trying to play with her ears.

Out for a Drive
Lucy has been taking the old jalopy out for a run.
Looks like she might need to adjust that wing mirror.

The Planets
Just near our road is an interesting sculpture which has been left out in the elements to weather naturally giving it a charming rustic appearance.
Apparently it is meant to represent The Planets (perhaps because Gustav Holst used to live in Barnes). The flattened one that Sprock is pointing out is meant to represent the earth as it is the only one that describes live via vegetation.
Mummy tries to explain this to Lucy but she appears underwhelmed.
However, give her a bit of grass to chew on ...

Going for a drive outside
Lucy is loving taking MujiMutt for a drive in her car. Mummy starts her on the grass to get her confidence up.
It is soon clear that she is ready for the tarmac.
Lucy compares her bangin new wheels with Daddy's car.
Opps. Lucy's first crash. Fortunatly she has hit Daddy's car and he is very forgiving.
Not that Lucy is looking terribly worried!

Badger Badger Badger
Aunty Niki got Lucy a great new t-shirt.
It features a fine picture of a badger. It makes more sense if you check this web site
