Ride 'im

Lucy has been practicing her riding skills. Sadly for Daddy she has figured out that his hair acts as pretty good reigns.

Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch.

A toast for Lucy

Of all the historic moments in a young ladies life (first step, first word, first Christmas etc.) nothing can really come close to the first time she gets to try toast.

This is also the first time that she has had finger food. That's not to say that she doesn't try to eat everything that she can get her hands on, but this is the first time it was eadibble.

I think it is fair to say that toast in now going to be one of her favorites.

Balls

Mellon generous donated their old balls to Lucy. We piled them all into her cage to see if she would like them. At first she was a little sceptical.

As time went on she started doing a bit more research and liked it a bit more.

At last her experiments were compete. She decided she loved them.

Ducks

We went to visit Mellon and they took us over to Lammas Park to see the ducks. Both Holly and Lucy took a keen interest in our feathered friends. Daddy and Marcus plied the ducks with bread to keep them performing.

Mummy decided to educate Lucy on the ways of the duck.

Marcus gave Holly some bread to throw the ducks. But she ate it instead.

The two proud Dads smile for the camera while Holly and Lucy have a chat.

Sally

Our mate Sally was down from Lincolnshire because she works for a company that imports posh wine from France and they were displaying their wares at a French Fare on Barnes Green. She took an hour off to catch up with Lucy (and Mummy and Daddy) over a coffee.

Then she decided to have a little dance.

Sucker

Once she starts sucking her thumb it is never long before Lucy is snoozing.

Swing!

Today Mummy and Daddy took the Sprockmeister to the play ground. She loves the swing.

My Dad Rocks

Hey there. 'Sup.

Lucy got this big bear from her Great Granny.

Aunty Nicola kindly got Lucy this finely observed and accurate "My Dad Rocks!" T-Shirt. Daddy got her the hat which has still got a bit of growing room in it.

It would not be entirely actuate to suggest that Lucy constructed this tower on her own. However, she certainly managed to knock it down with no assistance. I think you can probably see her plotting tower trashing in that cheeky expression.

Going out and about with that over sized jesters hat again. It might be too big but it is both warm and funny so that is fine.

Babies in Kew

Hiya! Lucy is playing with Raffi over at Solenes house.

She is having a whale of a time in this big bouncy ring.

After all that excitement she needs a bit of a rest so has a lie down with her "little" friend Jerome. Jerome seems very happy judging by his jovial thumbs up salute.

Toes

Daddy was looking after the Sprocket today. Can you tell that he dressed her? Of course having to look after Lucy is quite hard so he took her down to the pub. That isn't Lucy's glass of wine though.

No, it was Lucy's Biggest Fantm Aunty Pink who was chugging the vin blanc.

Now what do you do when a growbag start getting too short for your big flipper like feet? Why cut of the toes of course!

Great Nanny, Grandad Ray and Aunty Joy

Mummy and Sprock took a trip down to Peacehaven to see Great Nanny. Grandad Ray and Aunty Joy went as well.

Aunty Joy gives Lucy a huggle.

Granny, Grandad Ray and Joy all play with Lucy. Lucy likes being the center and attentions.

Self Service

Mummy has found a clever little device that will help Lucy feed herself. This yellow gadget fixes on to any feeding bottle and makes it much easier for a half-year old to hold the bottle on her own. She still needs Daddy to support the bottle a little bit but she is nearly there.

Lucy and Solene

Mummy and Lucy popped round to see Jerome and Solene. Lucy and Jerome tried to have a snooze but it was all too interesting!

Solene likes playing with Lucy.

Hiya!

Lucy and Holly

Mellon came over for Sunday Lunch. Lucy and Holly always like getting together. And both babies love playing horsey on their Daddies.

Ali gives Holly a big hug.

Motoring Fashion

As any young lady knows, one should be attired correctly when taking a trip in a motor vehicle. The current vogue seems to be stripy woolly jumper accessorised with stripy Muji Rabbit friend.

Yup. That seems to be a happy little lady.

Houdini the Cat

Lucy loves cats. She obviously loves her furry bothers Barney and Boo best. But now she has met Houdini, Aunty Niki's cat. He's normally called Hoody. Lucy has noticed that Aunty Niki is engrossed by a phone call. I wonder if Lucy will be able to give Hoody a furtive stroke?

Result! Lucy gets to give Hoody a good poke on the back paw.

And of course Niki was keeping a eye on the two friends all along.

Lyth Hill

Lyth Hill is a ridge just to the south of Shrewsbury made of Precambrian rocks. The rocks there are what are known as conglomerates. The ridge provides good views west into Wales and south to the South Shropshire Hills. It is an ideal place to survey the landscape of South Shropshire. You probably already knew all that.

But it is also a great place for the junior geologist to try out their stripy jumper and woolly hat.

Sprock Rock

It sure looks like Mummy and Sprock have found an impressive piece of rock.

Ironbridge

Ironbridge is famous throughout the world as one of the most significant locations in the history of the industrial revolution. The abundance of coal and ironstone in the area (amongst other raw materials) together with a river for power and transport provided the raw ingredients for invention but it was the stout men of Shropshire that put the area on the map through their imagination, vision and eunetrpenureship. The bridge itself, built in 1779, represents a potent symbol of those times.

Ali and Aunty Nicola seem suitably impressed to be under the heavy shadow of history but Lucy and Jonathan seem happy to have a snooze.
