Holy Cow!

Lucy, Mummy and Aunty Lorna went up north to visit her cousin Jonathan. In the North they have fields with cows in.

Jonathan attempts to Moo like a cow while Lucy waves at them as if she is the Queen.

Moore Nana Moo

Mummy and Lucy are down at Kew gardens again. How clever of them to have their photo taken next to Henry Moore's iconic "Reclining Mother and Baby" even though only Lucy is reclining. You might notice that Sprock is playing with Monty Moo the cow because ...

Nana Moo is there as well!

Not only that but Great Grandad Don is over as well. This is his first ever visit to Kew Gardens. Lucy is nothing if not a polite six month old, so she offers to drive Grandad's buggy through the palm house.

Grandad offers Lucy a few tips on buggy driving while Mummy and her Mummy look on.

Upside down baby

This isn't punishement. Lucy really does think it's funny.

Natural History Museum

Mummy decided that it was about time that Lucy learned a bit more about the natural world. So a trip to the Natural History Museum was arranged. You are never to young to learn about dinosaurs.

This fossilised shell is of incredible paleontological interest but Lucy just thinks' it's pretty.

After a while it all seems like more bones. Lucy decides her ear is much more fun to play with.

Even next to the monkey exhibits Sprock prefers to have a snooze sucking her new Triceratops puppet which is a present from Mummy.

But she perks up a bit for this great photo opportunity across the main hall.

Polar Bear

You may remember that when Lucy was first born she had a little bear suit that her Aunty Lorna got for her. Sprock grew out of that months ago so has been without a furry costume. However, Aunty Lorna has come up trumps and got her a new Polar Bear suit. Lucy is now almost exactly like a Polar Bear.

Although I'm not convinced that this is what Polar Bears do in the wild! Certainly not what I was lead to believe from the documentary books by Hans de Beer.

If you want to get ahead, get a hat

Aunty Jill

Aunty Jill was in London for a high powered conference. Since she was down in the big smoke, she popped over to catch up with Mummy and of course Lucy.

Lucy in the Library

I'm sure that Aunty Tiss the Librarian type person would approve of Ali taking Sprock down to the Library once a week for "Rhymes". This is where little nippers get their first introduction to Nursery Rhymes. These two lovely ladies read out the rhymes and stories to enchant the imaginations and spark the creativity of these little treasures.

Well, apart from Lucy who looks like she is miles away! Probably thinking about Chaucer.

Push Babies

A couple of times a week Mummy and some of her friends from NCT take their babies to Pushbabies. It allows them to take the babies for a nice walk while getting a bit of excersce themselves. Here are Raffi, Sprock and Jerome.

When it is a bit nippy Mummy dresses Lucy up as if she were going to Siberia. She doesn't seems to mind though.

Going on from Pushbabies Lucy and Mummy went for a walk to Marble Hill House. This is half way there - a look up at Richmond Hill.

And finally arriving at Marble Hill House.

Hampton Court

Lucy seems very impressed by Hampton Court when Mummy takes her there for a day out.

She also loves the beautiful gardens

Lucy appears to have made a new friend. Watch your head love.

Love and Hugs

Lucy wears one of her best frocks to impress Grandad. I think it is fair to say that Grandad is pretty impressed by Lucy anyway.

We went to the play park round the corner. Grandma has a swing with Lucy.

Ta da! Lucy plays with her funny Aunty Pink

Lucy and Grandma share a big old hug

Grandad

Following the excitement of seeing Grandma yesterday, Grandad had finished his high powered meeting in Farnborough and came over to see the Sprock.

Lucy doesn't quite understand how Wind Chimes are meant to work. It doesn't matter, they still make very agreeable sounds if you give them a good mauling.

Lucy enjoys her walk round the garden with Grandad.

Daddy, Grandad and Grandma head off to Barnes village.

Moore Grandma

Looking at the Sprockmeister snuggled into the arms of her Grandma posing in front of a fine Henry Moore sculpture you may be forgiven for thinking that we had taken her up to the hallowed land of Yorkshire from whence I hale. Well most Henry Moore works do indeed live in the Yorkshire Sculpture Park but just for a change some of them have come to visit Kew Gardens

Thanks to the generosity of some passing tourist, Mummy gets in the shot.

Some of Grandma's stories can go on for a while.

All this Henry Moore has brought out the artistic side in Mummy who frames a rather fantastic image of Grandma pushing the Sprockmobile in front of the Palm House.

Lucy has now recovered from Grandma's extended anecdote. "Come on Grandma, push faster".

High Chair

Last time Lucy's Grandma and Grandad were down from Hull they brought her this lovely high chair. She was only a little dot then so we knew that it was something that she was going to have to grow into. But since they are coming down again this week we thought we would try it for size.

Well there is certainly no doubt that it does what it says on the tin. Firstly it is high. And secondly, you might be ahead of me on this, it is a chair. More importantly the Sprock is perfectly happy to have food ladled into her while she sits in it.

Sadly it still it a little bit too big as the looseness of the harness shows - but I bet it will only be a couple or three weeks until she is snug as a bug in it.

Shoulder Ride

So Lucy had her first shoulder ride. We thought that she might be worried but not at all - she loved it. Giddy up Daddy.

In fact this is getting altogether too relaxed
